Unbelievable screw-jobs for June 5th 2009

I bet on the St. Louis Cardinals to win the game against the Colorado Rockies.

1. Jorge De La Rosa's (Starting Pitcher for COL) first victory of the year after an 0-6 start. His manager Jim Tracy had this to say about De La Rosa: "It's the first time all year I really believe he turned the page, went right to the next hitter and put the inning down right there," Tracy said. "I was very encouraged by the way he threw his shoulders back and let it go." De La Rosa's losing streak had been tied with the Tigers' Armando Galarraga for the longest in the major leagues and he'd lost his previous three starts while allowing 18 runs in 12 innings.

2. Jorge De La Rosa had his first RBI of the season with a bases-loaded walk. It also was the first walk of his career in 74 at-bats with the take sign still on at 3-1.

3. Dexter Fowler homered for a 2-0 lead in the sixth and drew a bases-loaded walk one at-bat after the .056-hitting De La Rosa's free pass in the Rockies' biggest inning of the year.

I bet on the Chicago White Sox against the Cleveland Indians.

1. Carl Pavano (Starting Pitcher for CLE) handled the White Sox lineup with relative ease in his first shutout since May 17, 2005, for the Yankees.

2. The White Sox have been shut out in back-to-back games for the first time since Aug. 9-10, 1997.
